The Exploration Log was designed for Mariner Brewing Company as an interactive way for customers of Mariner Brewing Company to familiarize themselves with the wide variety of beers served in the taproom, provide Mariner with important consumer feedback, and serve as a loyalty program for returning or regular customers. My primary role was maintaining external communication with Mariner Brewing and our user stakeholders, creating user journey maps, designing the beer passport itself, and creating high-fidelity mockups within the company branding guidelines.

The log serves as a physical medium for customers to briefly record their thoughts and feelings about each new brew they try, helping them achieve a better understanding of what their tastes are as craft beer drinkers. The customer can then share these notes digitally with Mariner Brewing, in exchange for a sticker in their journal as well as an entry into a prize draw.
Once implemented, Mariner Brewing can expect greater awareness about their beer lineup, as the exploration log incentivizes customers to keep trying new brews as they are released. At the same time, the direct feedback from each journal entry can be applied to future brews to ensure strong sales and widespread enjoyment.
An in-depth case study and breakdown of the design process is in the works. For now, feel free to look through the mockups, co-creation digital workshop, user journeys and visual assets.

Here is a time-lapse of my initial sketching process for designing the Exploration Log passport cover and pages.
